About This Ingredient

Niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin B3 with a large independent evidence base for skin-barrier support and even tone (Bissett, 2005). On the scalp it supports barrier function and comfort. It does NOT build keratin and does not grow hair — the keratin-synthesis claim is falsified, and topical niacinamide inhibited human hair-follicle growth in ex-vivo organ culture. It is a barrier/tone vitamin, defensible at 2% and above.
